The '50s Tribute body starts as all SG Standards do, with a foundation of solid Mahogany tonewood designed in a distinctive, thin asymmetrical dual-cutaway style with iconic pointed 'horns' and bevelled edges, finished in Heritage Cherry with a vintage gloss.

A solid mahogany neck is glued to the body and carved to a comfortably rounded '50s neck profile, topped off with a headstock with silkscreened gold Gibson logo design and holly logos.

The warm, rich and responsive tone from Rosewood makes it the perfect fingerboard material. Offering clear and tight bass projection without overshadowing sparkling midrange or trebles, the 24 medium-jumbo frets are adorned with trapezoidal inlays. In keeping with the stripped-down ethos, there is no pickguard and both body and fingerboard remain unbound.

The Heritage Cherry vintage gloss finish gives the '50s Tribute a modern appearance in keeping with the SGs of the past. The nitrocellulose lacquer produces a finish that breathes with the guitar and enhances natural resonance, encouraging a purer tone.

Taking its firepower from a pair of P-90 pickups, some of the most revered tone machines in Gibson history. The vintage pickup formula includes two Alnico V bar magnets per pickup and a coil-wound wire which produces the growl, snarl and articulation that made the original SG Standard legendary.

Traditional wiring of an independent volume and tone control per pickup plus a three-way pickup selector provide a broad range of sonic variations. Add to the mix a classic Tune-O-Matic bridge and Stopbar tailpiece and a set of Steinberger gearless tuners and you have a set of hardware that partners up for solid sustain and precision tuning.

The SG '50s Tribute presents the perfect celebration of the SGs for that era, and the genius of Les Paul, wrapping it all into a great guitar that brings the look and feel of a classic design into the hands of the demanding players of today.
