Brad Paisley’s Signature Fender features an incredibly lightweight body, crafted from spruce and paulownia to provide an acoustic-like resonance. While paulownia is not known as a premium tonewood, its incredibly balanced and resonant tone makes it perfect when combined with spruce’s incredibly dynamic character. Using spruce for the top and bottom gives the guitar its luscious tonal quality, providing excellent clarity and a powerfully direct sound.
The signature Telecaster is fitted with a beautiful maple neck and fingerboard, providing the guitar with a lusciously bright tonal character and tightening up the overall tone with plenty of cut. The tonewood is perfect for a wide range of playing styles, delivering a powerfully sharp punch with excellent clarity when the strings are hit hard. Medium to light picking brings out the subtler tonal characteristics of the maple, providing the guitar with a lavish undertone of depth and crispness. Crafting both neck and fingerboard from maple helps improve the Tele’s sound, adding a slight sizzle to the high end while keeping the lows firm and mids snappy.
The Telecaster incorporates a string-through body construction to improve the overall tonality and sustain, transferring the vibrations and resonance from the strings to the body. The vintage style bridge features compensated brass saddles to keep the strings stable, allowing the guitar to be played harder without it going out of tune.
Featuring a carefully fitted synthetic bone nut, the signature guitar delivers an increased resonance and bright tonality. When compared to traditional plastic and Tusq materials used to construct guitar nuts, synthetic bone improves the vibration transfer between the string and tuning machines without dampening the tone.
The rich history of Fender guitars begins with the Telecaster. An indispensable instrument, the Telecaster was the world's first successful solid-body electric guitar. Perfected after two years of development - and a name change or two - the Telecaster debuted in February 1951 and began its steady ascent towards the stage and studio. Ingeniously engineered with the ability to be heard both loud and clear, it was a marvel of simple design elegance and workhorse functionality. It is perhaps a fitting testimony to its essential original rightness that the Telecaster design has hardly changed ever since.
