P.Mauriat believe that whichever instrument is chosen by the player, the instrument must act as a "soundboard for the soul". To make sure this is the case, all Mauriat instruments are hand made using French brass and many other materials, to enhance the resonance and projection. These are then sent through the lacquering process, which has been specifically designed to produce the typical "vintage" saxophone sound, as well as to provide long lasting protection and an aesthetically pleasing product. These are then finished off with genuine Abalone touch pieces, to add a bit of extra finesse to each saxophone produced.
Rolled Tone Holes
All P Mauriat PMXA-67RX series alto saxes come with Rolled tone holes as standard, which results in the pads sealing better. This produces a more focused and centered sound, with better projection and volume. The better seal results in the sax becoming more free blowing and less resistant, enabling the performer to produce a wider range of tonal colours.
