A rock-size drum kit includes a bass drum between 20'' and 24'' in diameter, a 14'' snare drum, two rack toms between 10'' and 13'' and a floor tom between 14'' and 16''. A standard rock set-up is typically a five-piece however most rock drummers tend to expand this for their own custom setup. Rock drum kits are ideal for heavy playing styles and are typically favourited by beginner drummers looking to emulate their drumming heroes.

The BDK-22 features 100-percent poplar shells, this wood provides an even balance of low and high frequencies, producing a sound that's warm in the lower frequencies and smoother in the higher register with a neutral midrange.
