Tama Imperialstar drum kits make use of Tama's 40 years of drum-building experience, giving you an affordable kit with many high-end features for a far longer life than many kits aimed at beginners. This five-piece kit includes a 22" bass drum, snare drum, two toms and a floor tom, all with poplar shells and a wrap finish in Hairline Copper. View Full DescriptionImperialstar drum shells are made from poplar wood, an extremely popular choice thanks to its full, warm tone and medium attack. The shells have extremely precise bearing edges, for a wide range of tuneability, sensitivity and response. They also feature wrapped finishes that are glued to the shell completely, rather than only at selected contact points. This eliminates warping, buzzing and lifting and allows the shell to resonate fully and consistently.
The bass drum features Accu-Tone hoops, which are lighter and offer faster, more stable tuning than traditional metal hoops. They use tension bolts instead of clawhooks and T-rods to make head changes and packing up a breeze.
Greater resonance for the drums is provided by the Imperialstar lugs, which are smaller than previous lugs, and by the tom holder system which offers easy positioning and maximum flexibility, and does not inhibit resonance as it does not penetrate the shell interior.
The Imperialstar hardware is designed to give stability, easy-of-use and durability at an affordable price.
