Prismatic Sound Modelling infuses multi-layer samples, recorded in world-class studios, to pump life and authenticity into your sound. The initial attack is followed by a complex mix of rich overtones, just like playing acoustic drums and cymbals. When you combine this module with Roland's new trigger pads with advanced trigger-sensing technology, you're guaranteed the most authentic, expressive and resonant drum sounds you'll hear from any electronic kit.
The Prismatic Sound Modelling allows you to feel the sound changing in reaction to your expression. This creates an interactive bond that fully immerses you in the moment. From subtle ghost notes and detailed articulations to the loudest and most intense playing, your drumming has no boundaries with the TD-50X.
The digital pad technology unleashes the full potential of Prismatic Sound Modelling. The multi-sensor detector in the snare, ride and hi-hat pads work with lightning-fast processing in the TD-50X module to bring authentic acoustic nuance and detail to the core of the kit. All of your unique drumming characteristics and techniques translate effortlessly. This includes subtle cymbal touches to mute the sound or switching between head, rimshot and cross stick playing on the snare.
The VH-14D hi-hat pad completes this experience, offering touch sensitivity, tonal variation, and open/closed resolution like never before in electronic drumming.
The TD-50X is packed full of powerful, punchy, and dynamic pre-set kits which can be tuned for to suit your preferences. Dive into an immersive playing experience straight away or tweak the kits to create your own sound – the choice is yours. Either way, you will achieve the sound of acoustic drums in a top tier studio that are mic’d up, processed, and mixed by a top-quality engineer.
Choose from a wide range of classic studio drum sets and modern processed kits to cover any style, with descriptive names that let you envision the sound before you even strike a drum.
The TD-50X isn’t just about selecting a sound and playing. You can customise every aspect of the kit to suit your personal style and taste. You can quickly make alterations to the tuning and muffling of any drum, with all of your changes saved in real-time.
For maximum customisation, why not start with a blank slate? Build your dream kit from scratch, selecting shell depth and head types for drums, as well as diameter, thickness, and other characteristics for cymbals. And, with the PureAcoustic Ambience technology, you can instantly place your kit in different virtual environments. This provides an entirely different sound due to the natural reverb of the environment. From tight, dry studios to massive arenas and everything in-between, the TD-50X allows you to find the perfect sound for you.
The TD-50X provides all of the studio-grade sound tool that you would find in a professional computer music production environment. Like a recording engineer, you can adjust mic settings for various kit elements, then refine sounds with EQs, compressors, and other processing. There’s a massive library of top-quality effects on hand too, from rich, expansive reverbs to delay, distortion, phaser, bit crusher, and more. Fader controls on the module are also available, letting you control the mix from the stage when needed.
If you would rather mix your sound externally, while performing live or in the studio – you can. With ten fully assignable balanced outputs, you can send an audio engineer whatever drums they need to mix the sound appropriately, with or without effects.
