The Tama SLP Vintage Hammered Steel 14'' x 5.5'' Snare Drum is built from steel. The 1.2mm steel shell is hammered, which adds tonal complexity, depth and dryness to the sounds generally associated with Tama's steel shell, which are bright and penetrating. The complex tones are generated from the way sound reflects off the hammered shell texture. The steel Sound Arc hoops emphasise the great sound and add extra sustain, making the steel shell sing through any sound it's put up against. The brass lugs ensure a long lifespan for your tension rods. The Super Sensitive Hi-Carbon Steel Snappy snares will add the extra attack as needed. The hammered steel shell keeps a natural-looking shine and shimmering finish which more than matches the shimmering sound.

Steel Shell

The Tama SLP Vintage Snare is constructed from hammered steel, delivering an overly bright tone that has a powerful cut that can penetrate through any sound it’s put up against. The steel also provides an excellently long sustain to help create a big tone and provides the snare drum with a distinctive rimshot sound that is satisfyingly sharp.

Sound Arc Steel Hoops

Tama's Sound Arc flanged hoops emphasise the great sound the snare emits, featuring inward curving rims that are gentler on the hands than regular hoops when playing rimshots. They give the snare its classic open tone and are bent inward to allow the tone of the hammered steel shell shine.
