The Tama Starclassic Performer shell pack combines inner plies of bubinga with the classic birch exterior to create shells that produce the best of both worlds. Bubinga features unconventional combination of depth and a biting attack with an intense depth and sustain. Additionally, birch is capable of wide set of tonal personalities that enable the drum to project a versatile and dynamic tone. Quite often, birch is employed to produce a tighter, controlled character, which has resulted in a reputation among recording engineers as being “naturally EQ'd.”
Tama's innovative Star-Cast mounting system maximises the drums resonance, also providing support at four separate points on the batter side hoop of the drums.
With up to 40 years within the drum industry, Tama has developed a unique brand that prioritises both great tonal quality and outstanding aesthetics. With an eclectic list of artists on their roster, Tama has consistently delivered high quality percussion to a multitude of musicians over the years. This extensive list includes the likes of Animals as Leaders Drummer Matt Garstka, Anthrax's Charlie Benante, ZZ Top's Frank Beard and Kendrick Lamar's Rico Nichols. Tama drums accentuate each individual's specific nuanced style of playing and incidentally give the player unparalleled tone and versatility.
