The Les Paul Epiphone guitar pays homage to one of the all-time greats of guitar history - the Gibson Les Paul! These iconic guitars are almost identical in looks but come without a large price tag. With single cutaway bodies for easy upper fret access and dual humbucker or P90 pickups, they perform exceptionally well - and can be used onstage or in the studio.
There are plenty of different Epiphone Les Paul Series as well, ranging from the ultra-affordable, entry-level Beginners to the esteemed Customs, each with their own nuances in design and craftsmanship. Every musician can appreciate how dynamic and sturdy these guitars are, having been built for anything from blues to hard rock, and even metal. It's no wonder many professionals, like Matt Heafy and Tom Delonge, take these workhorse guitars out on the road to be played night after night.
There are loads of funky finishes too, as well as guitars both with the iconic Les Paul pickguard and without. The key is that these really do feel like a Gibson, and provide the same stage presence, era-defining image, and rock 'n' roll spirit as the original Les Pauls. Great for both rhythm and lead, the dynamic Epiphone Les Paul is a guitar which has developed its own identity.
Epiphones are very similar to Gibsons. They're very well-made guitars with excellent components for the price, but Gibsons cost more because of their USA manufacturing/setup. Epiphones can hold their own in any situation, from live performances to studio recordings.
The Epiphone Les Paul is an excellent guitar for beginners. The price varies depending on the series, but they're inexpensive and have everything a beginner could want in a guitar - reliable tuning, good pickups, and a comfortable feel.
Epiphone Les Pauls are cheaper than Gibsons since the majority of them are not made in the USA. Non-US made models still have exceptional components and build quality, which is one of the reasons they are so popular among guitarists at all stages in their journey - professionals included!
