The Les Paul Standard is equipped with a set of powerful BurstBucker Pro pickups, with the Rhythm at the neck and Lead at the bridge. Gibson Burstbuckers were designed to deliver those vintage PAF tones of the '50s, yet within a modern pickup. These pickups feature Alnico V magnets to provide a high output which allows preamps to be driven hard, delivering a natural break-up for an organic tone.
The Pro Rhythm Humbucker is wound slightly less than the original PAFs, while the Pro Lead Humbucker is slightly over-wound for enhanced output. A pair of push/pull volume and tone controls for each pickup provide players with excellent tonal shaping, along with a toggle switch for a range of powerful combinations. You'll be able to access any sound you desire. Whether you want softer, sweeter harmonic tones for more gentle songs, or electrifying, exhilarating power for scintillating solos, this is a pickup setup that gives you everything. Unlimited choice.
A guitar that turns heads. This Gibson Les Paul Standard is an instrument so stylish, you'll never want to stop looking at it. Crafted with a rich mahogany body, along with an AAA figured maple top, the wood's elegant natural grain is visible beneath the body's striking finish.
The use of maple provides a stylish tiger stripe effect, adding eye-catching and unique aesthetics. The Les Paul is also trimmed in a vintage cream binding along the edge, which adds a sharp, alluring contrast between the colour finish and natural mahogany back. Acrylic trapezoid inlays spread across the guitar's fretboard apply an extra touch of class to this stunning instrument. Divine.
An entirely unique, innovative design. The Les Paul Standard comes equipped with an asymmetrical, slim taper neck profile. This is one of the most comfortable and playable necks ever offered on any guitar. The slim taper makes the neck easy to handle, meaning sliding up and down and playing for long periods of time is easy.
The real genius aspect of this guitar's neck, though, comes in its ergonomic asymmetrical design. Thicker on the bass side and thinner on the treble side, it closely outlines the natural form of the hand as it grips the neck. This makes even the most difficult chords, the most complex notes, and the most speedy solos simple. You've never had a guitar that's as comfortable to play as this.
Brilliant down to even the smallest detail. Gibson have put all of their efforts into ensuring that the Les Paul Standard is a flawless example of how a guitar should be made. Enjoy stable and reliable tone with Gibson and Grover hardware. The Gibson Nashville Tune-O-Matic bridge features wide footing for increased intonation range, meaning your playing will never be limited in its dynamism. There are also Grover Rotomatic tuners onboard that keep your tone in tune throughout the night. Complete precision in sound.
A guitar that will deliver every note you play with beautiful resonance and sustain. This is thanks to the addition of a TekToid graphite nut, offering increased harmonics in the middle and upper frequency range. You'll always have a rich and detailed tone.
TekToid Graphite is the best high-tech cure for eliminating undesirable friction within the nut, which can cause tuning problems. So you'll always stay pitch perfect. It is the ideal choice for a guitar nut, as it has excellent conductive qualities which benefit the guitar's tone and sustain. Your playing will enjoy magnificent fullness.
Iconic. That's the one word you'd use to describe the Les Paul. It's been seen and heard in the music of the very best for decades, and models of such quality as this Standard 2019 model will ensure that it'll continue being heard for years to come.
The supreme fullness and richness of the Les Paul sound has seen a long line of brilliant musicians take it up as a go-to guitar. Pete Townshend used one as he drove The Who to rock and roll superstardom. Reggae music was changed forever by Bob Marley and his Les Paul, utilising the instrument's ability to deliver jangly, clean sounds. Jimmy Page embraced the guitar's roaring, aggressive power as he created some of the greatest guitar lines ever heard with Led Zeppelin.
A long-serving legend of the music world. With models as good and as versatile as the Les Paul Standard, that legend will be continuing for a very long time.
