The original EarthQuake Devices Arpanoid was the first ever arpeggiator specifically designed for guitar in a pedal format. It provided musicians with some unique sounds and inspiration for producing music. The V2 continues the Arpanoid line and brings back the same premium construction and avant-garde tones.
Extensive Options
The Arpanoid V2 includes multiple dials to control many facets of the tone generation that it is capable of. With its 8 different modes, it can generate pitches based on major and minor scales, and it can work with single notes and chords. Here is an overview of what each control does:
- Wet and Dry: Controls the signal path blend. The dry signal is all-analogue whilst the wet signal is all-digital.
- Step: The number of notes in the generated sequence. This determines the time signature and rhythmic pattern and allows experimentation with poly-rhythms and odd time signatures.
- Mode: 8 position selector switch to choose the octave and key -
- 1: Major: -1 octave to root.
- 2: Major: root to +1 octave.
- 3: Major: -1 octave through +1
- 4: Major: Random pattern
- 5: Minor: -1 octave to root.
- 6: Minor: root to +1 octave.
- 7: Minor: -1 octave through +1
- 8: Minor: Random pattern
- Rate: The speed of the patterns
The V2 model also features a Flex Switch, so that it can operate in traditional latching mode, or produce stutter effects with momentary operation. With such a wide range of control, the Arpanoid V2 provides endless room for experimentation and will provide brand new inspiration for your music making.
Build Quality
The Arpanoid V2 is hand-built by EarthQuaker Devices in Ohio, USA. They use premium components and a rugged metal chassis to make sure that this pedal will survive the rigours of gigging and touring. The jack sockets are top-mounted for easier pedalboard integration, while the bypass is True-Bypass so that your signal will be left uncoloured.
