The American Original comes equipped with a pair of Pure Vintage ’52 pickups located at the neck and bridge of the guitar. Despite it being the same pickup, each position works to produce different tones that create a stunning overall sound. The pickup at the bridge projects a twangy tone when the guitar is lightly plucked, yet delivers a powerful, full, and warm compression when driven hard. Its neck placement delivers a sweet, articulate, and clear voicing. Combined together, these provide you with an authentic tone that sounds as if it had been plucked straight out of the ‘50s. With this, you are able to perform a multitude of genres that were popular back then, such as rock ‘n’ roll, blues, rockabilly and swing.
Well-crafted into a thick “U” profile, the guitar’s neck provides you with hours of comfortable playing due to the way it fits naturally and fills your hand completely, allowing for a secure grip while you perform. The design is also perfect for those who like to place their thumb on the back or side of the neck in order to further enhance their comfort. Furthermore, the neck is topped with a maple fretboard. Its wooden material is dense, providing you with a smooth surface to glide your fingers between frets. The combination of neck and fingerboard also helps towards the guitar’s overall tone, as it adds more sustain and plenty of bite.
The guitar’s body has been sculpted from ash wood, meaning it adds an extra layer of comfort to your performance due to its lightweight structure. It has been carved into a cutaway profile, which not only adds an aesthetic look to your guitar, but also provides easy access to the upper frets so you can add that bright, sparkling tone to your solos. Its ash wood also contributes to the overall tone of the guitar. As you perform, the material will help to produce bright, crisp, and articulate tones, along with firm lows and snappy highs.
