Maple / Poplar / Maple Body

Constructed from a hollow Maple/Poplar/Maple body the ES-335 produces a bright, tight and precise tone with a balanced low and crisp high response. Additionally the "F" shaped sound holes allow unique vibration circulation within the body creating a warm and resonant tone similar to larger acoustic guitars. Finished with an attractive figured top which is complimented by the sunset burst lacquer the ES-335 not only sounds great but looks extremely impressive.

Historic Mahogany Neck & Truss Rod

Featuring a Slim Taper Mahogany neck with re-designed dimensions the ES-335 offers an effortless playability whilst the set-in construction ensures maximum vibration transferal for long sustain and increased resonance. With an added thickness to the headstock stem the ES-335 offers a strengthened and more stable construction ideal for hard wearing playing. The headstock adjustable historic truss rod provides superior adjustability due to the Teflon coating, larger diameter and robust Brass anchor.

Burstbucker Humbucking Pickups

Incorporating a set of Burstbucker humbucking pickups designed to recreate the tone of the classic Gibson PAF pickups the Gibson ES-335 produces a rich vintage tone. The Burstbucker 1 in the bridge position provides a medium output with a well-rounded and creamy tone due to the alnico magnets and under-wound construction whilst the Burstbucker 2 in the neck position delivers a slightly hotter tone similar to '57 classic pickups.

PLEK Machine Set-Up

Gibson have utilised the German manufactured PLEK machine for many years now - these incredible machines can scan a guitar and apply a perfect, accurate fret dress and action to the guitar. The result is that each Gibson guitar comes out of the box ready to play without any adjustments required. For 2015, Gibson have fine-tuned the PLEK set up, resulting in one of the best feeling electric guitars ever made, with 27 percent lower fret wire across the fingerboard.

Bone Nut & Rolled Neck Binding

The Gibson 2015 ES-335 employs a carefully fitted bone nut to provide an improved tone and sustain over traditional plastic and tusq nuts as it improves the vibration transfer between the string and tuning machines without dampening the tone. Featuring a Rosewood fingerboard finished with Pearloid block inlays the 2015 ES-335 provides a smooth and quick playability whilst the rolled neck binding is rounded off to allow a comfortable fit to the contours of the hand.
