The Tubano is a Remo innovation that is Conga-like in sound. Its played however without the use of a floor stand or needing to tilt the drum because of the drums innovative feet. The ease of being able to instantly play the Tubano makes it a natural for students and other newcomers to drumming. Another one of its innovative design features is an internal resonating tube with accentuated feet that allows for full bass resonance. This instrument is a staple in Will Schmids World Music Curriculum.

The Tubano shell is made from Remo`s ACOUSTICON shell material, which makes for a much lighter drum compared to a similarly sized Conga. All three sizes (10", 12", and 14") come with a side-mounted handle for easy carrying. The pretuned Tubano comes with a Type 3 FIBERSKYN® 3 head while the tunable comes with a Type 2 NUSKYN head.
