The Dean Performer Electric features a spruce top to deliver a broad dynamic range and crisp articulation. Spruce is the most commonly used timber for guitar tops, as it generates a versatile sound and accommodates numerous playing styles. The wood itself is quite elastic in nature, which resonates well whilst remaining strong and providing a focused, clear sound with deep lows, warm mids, and bright, sparkling highs. The spruce top is coupled with mahogany back and sides to add a warm character to the brightly toned spruce top. Used as back and side panels, the mahogany delivers a meaty mid-range, producing punchy, woody tones with plenty of depth and complexity that will please most playing styles.
The Dean Performer's neck is crafted from mahogany which responds well to different styles of play, from fingerpicking techniques to different strumming patterns with equal ease. The durable mahogany neck offers a great resonance, which is enhanced by the rosewood fingerboard to deliver a bright, warm, sparkly tone that shines through when fingerpicking. The rosewood fingerboard also provides a smooth and energetic playing experience, and features pearl dot inlays for added elegance.
Incorporating a powerful and versatile Dean Preamp, the Performer Electric can easily be connected to amplifiers and PA systems making it perfect for live performers. The Dean Preamp system also features a range of built in controls including a 3-band EQ and volume control, allowing you to shape your tone before the signal even reaches the amplifier. Perfect for quick tone adjustments between songs, the Dean Preamp also has a built in tuner with LED display for seamless tuning adjustments on the fly.
