Seymour Duncan AS Signature Pickups

The Alex Skolnick Signature Guitar is powered by a pair of Seymour Duncan AS Signature Pickups at the neck and bridge. These signature pickups were designed to accommodate for the variety of different styles and genres that Alex plays. This humbucker set produce tones ranging from fat, full and melodic, to heavy, aggressive and punchy. Overall, the AS Signature Pickups yield rich and harmonic tones at the neck, and a heavy, high-output sound at the bridge.

Iconic Single Cutaway Body

The ESP Signature Alex Skolnick Guitar features the iconic ESP Eclipse body along with a comfortable single cutaway, providing easy access to the higher frets. The guitar has a stunning appearance with a Black Aqua Sunburst over the unique grain of the flame maple. The body is crafted from mahogany, delivering a sound with warmth and resonance, as well as good bite and sustain. The mahogany is topped with flame maple for enhanced brightness, clarity and an overall a fuller sound.

Maple Set-Thru Construction

This Signature Alex Skolnick guitar features a 3-piece maple neck that provides excellent durability, and is more resistant to warping than classic 1-piece necks. Its U-shaped profile is perfect for quick shredding like Alex's own style, allowing players to easily navigate the fingerboard without losing any comfort. The maple offers beautifully bright tones, with searing highs and strong mids for a dynamic performance. The rosewood fingerboard enhances the overall tone with a warm character, opening the mids up to create articulated harmonics. The set-thru construction offers advanced sustain and resonance by optimising the contact between the neck and body joint.

Premium Hardware

For many years Floyd Rose has been the leading manufacturer and designer of floating, locking tremolos. With a design that has stood strong for over 30 years, the Floyd Rose Original locking tremolo allows you to adjust the string tension and pitch with the removable whammy bar to create unique sounds such as dive bombs. Unlike non-locking tremolos, the Floyd Rose bridge can make huge changes in pitch but still retain the initial tuning by addition of the locking nut at the end of the headstock. The Alex Skolnick FR also features Gotoh tuners, which are designed to improve tuning stability whilst reducing string slippage, delivering a truly quick and easy way to tune.

About Alex Skolnick

Alex Skolnick is recognised as one of the greatest guitarists of all time, and considered one of the fastest too. Skolnick has been playing guitar since the age of 9, and became a student of guitarist and tutor, Joe Satriani. Throughout his career, he has explored an array of different styles and genres, including playing with thrash metal band Testament and jazz group The Alex Skolnick Trio. Skolnick's Signature guitars with ESP are designed to accommodate a range of different styles, which Alex himself requires.
