Featuring high output active EMG 81 and 89R humbucking pickups, the Gary Holt Eclipse delivers sharp attack and beefy rhythms at the bridge and warm and dynamic tonality at the neck. Constructed from close aperture coils and featuring ceramic (81) and alnico V (89R) magnets, the 81 and 89R humbuckers provide advanced detail and a truly meaty tone. EMG pickups are favoured by many professional musicians due to their unbeatable tone, active circuitry, high output and low noise. The EMG 81 and 89R pickups feature red covers, which add to the fierce, metal appearance of this Gary Holt guitar.
The ESP Signature Gary Holt Guitar features the iconic ESP Eclipse body along with a comfortable single cutaway, providing easy access to the higher frets. The body is crafted from mahogany, delivering a sound with warmth and resonance, as well as good bite and sustain. The mahogany features a maple top for added brightness, clarity and overall a fuller sound.
The set-thru neck construction provides enhanced sustain, as well as increased strength and sturdiness. The mahogany neck yields rich tones with good sonic warmth, and is paired with an ebony fingerboard, bringing clarity and definition to the overall tone.
With the push/pull pickup coil tap, this ESP guitar offers a huge amount of tonal options allowing you to switch the pickup settings from a standard humbucking mode to a single coil. This feature makes the guitar extremely versatile, perfect for live situations when an array of tones are required.
For many years Floyd Rose has been the leading manufacturer and designer of floating, locking tremolos. With a design that has stood strong for over 30 years, the Floyd Rose Original locking tremolo allows you to adjust the string tension and pitch with the removable whammy bar to create unique sounds such as dive bombs. Unlike non-locking tremolos, the Floyd Rose bridge can make huge changes in pitch but still retain the initial tuning by addition of the locking nut at the end of the headstock. The Gary Holt Eclipse also features Gotoh tuners, which are designed to improve tuning stability whilst reducing string slippage, delivering a truly quick and easy way to tune.
Gary Holt is renowned as one of the biggest icons within thrash metal. Holt started his guitar career in the thrash metal band Exodus, with whom he has played on all 15 studio albums since 1982. His own influences include artists such as Ritchie Blackmore, Michael Schenker and Angus Young, and bands including Venom, Motorhead and Judas Priest. However Gary Holt is considered a massive influence for metal guitarists who are just starting out, and he also released a guitar tutorial video in 2008. Gary Holt's Signature ESP guitars are all designed to accommodate for his aggressive and powerful playing style.
