Baritone Scale Length
Featuring a 27 inch scale length as appose to traditional 24.75, 25 and 25.5 inch scale lengths the H-408B FM provides baritone capabilities. Due to the longer scale length the H-408B can be tuned to a range of low tunings such as standard (F#,B,E,A,D,G,B,E) tuning or fourth tuning (F#,B,E,A,D,G,C,F) particularly favourable with heavy metal players requiring a low and deep tone.
EMG 808 Pickups
The H-408B FM wields a dual set of active EMG 808 humbucking pickups which utilize alnico V loaded wide aperture coils to deliver a truly dynamic 8-string tonality. Eliminating the muddy and muffled low F# sound of prior 8 string guitar pickups the 808's produce a deep and defined low F# response whilst also providing tight, crisp and detailed overall response allowing them to be versatile enough for a huge range of playing styles.
String-Thru Body
Incorporating a fixed bridge with string-thru body construction the LTD H-408B FM provides improved tonality and sustain by transferring vibrations and resonance from the string to the body as it goes over the hardtail bridge and passes through the body.
