Tommy Thayer's life story is the classic tale of a musician who knew from childhood that he belonged on-stage with a guitar in hand. Since 1985, he has been part of the KISS family as songwriter and guitarist, working behind the scenes at rehearsals and on studio demos.

In 2002, Tommy joined KISS as the iconic 'Spaceman', giving the rock legends an explosive new sound and attidtude. Now, with his own Les Paul Standard with Gibson 498T Humbuckers, Grover Deluxe Vintage tuners and a custom silver hard case, this Les Paul Standard 'Spaceman' is one-of-a-kind like Tommy himself, with a limited run of just 1000.

The Epiphone Limited Edition Tommy Thayer LP Standard features a solid mahogany body and a plain maple veneer top that deliver the classic tone and sustain that can only come from a genuine Les Paul. A 1960's SlimTaper 'D' profile mahogany neck features, with deep-set glued-in neck joint, 22 medium jumbo frets and a 1.68" nut. The 14 degree headstock gives you more pressure at the nut for greater sustain with less tuning hang-ups. A rosewood fingerboard with 12" radius and pearloid trapezoid inlays completes the classic Les Paul Standard look and feel.

The top features a beautiful Silver Flake colour finish and a black gloss finish on the back, sides and neck. The body features single-ply white binging on the top and on the fingerboard, with a cool black pickguard completeing the modern look. At Tommy's request, the Limited Edition Tommy Thayer 'Spaceman' features the world-famous Gibson 498T Humbucker pickups with a covered 498T in the neck position and an open-coil, double black bobbin Gibson 498T in lead position for that unmistakable Gibson sound. The pickups use Alnico V magnets for a slightly hotter output with an emphasis on mid-ranges and highs.

This 'Spaceman' Les Paul Standard Outfit features Epiphone's legendary rock-solid nickel hardware, including a Locking Tune-o-matic StopBar fully-adjustable bridge. An updated, patent-pending design auto-locks the bridge and tailpiece for sustain that Mr Les Paul always imagined possible. Epiphone's all-metal 3-way toggle switch uses rugged spring-steel contacts to ensure years of reliable service and performance and a proprietory output jack features an improved contact shape and heavy-duty spring steel to increase reliability.
