The Adam Clayton Jazz Bass takes its cues from vintage Fender bass guitars, with its alder body, maple neck and rosewood fingerboard specified to create a balance of brightness, sustain, resonance, and fast note-articulation. The iconic Jazz Bass design has contours in all the right places, enabling a smooth playing feel whether stood up or sat down.
The maple neck features a custom "C"-shaped profile and 9.5'' radius fingerboard which sits comfortably in the left hand and gives great balance across the strings. The body's double cutaway enables easy access to the top frets, so high-end soloing is not limited by any barriers.
The Adam Clayton bass features Custom Shop single-coil pickups to provide the iconic tones of the Jazz Bass guitar. With a biting bridge-position sound sitting alongside a warm neck-position tone, the Adam Clayton bass can adapt to multiple genres of music with ease. The individual pickup volume controls let you create the perfect blend of sound, while the master tone control helps you sculpt the overall brightness.
A special HiMass bridge is specified for enhanced sustain and resonance along with better intonation and tuning stability. The guitar is loaded with vintage-style "Lollipop" tuning machineheads and plastic Jazz Bass control knobs to deliver a classic aesthetic, reminiscent of vintage Fender basses. The guitar comes in a Deluxe Hardshell case, so it ready to gig with right out of the box.
Adam Clayton has performed with the Irish rock band U2 ever since he co-founded it in 1976. Over that time, he has relied on the Fender Precision and Jazz Bass guitars to deliver his unique blend of pop and rock tones, infused with reggae and Motown playing techniques. Fender bass guitars have proved themselves over the decades to be incredibly versatile, and have been seen in all genres of music. Adam has put them to the ultimate test with his frequent world tours and recording sessions. The signature Adam Clayton model is a celebration of his long-standing use of Fender bass guitars.
