The American Professional Telecaster features an sturdy alder body, renowned for its incredible resonance, clear, balanced tones, and comfortably light weight. Fender have used alder as their tonewood of choice for electric guitars since the 1950s, as the balanced response and slight upper middle definition makes it perfect for rock and blues playing. For aesthetic appeal, players can benefit from the Gloss Polyurethane coating, which protects the guitar from wear and tear, along with a full host of classic Fender appointments including knurled flat-top control knobs, angled headstock, modern Ashtray bridge cover, and 3-ply mint green pickguard.
The American Professional series from Fender all feature a ''Deep C'' maple neck designed for comfort and speed. Unlike other neck profiles, the Deep C shape features more substantial shoulders which creates a more natural feel in the player's hand, perfect for chords and single notes. Mounted with a maple fingerboard, players can achieve a snappy tone with a sizzling high end and firm lows.
The American Pro Tele is equipped with two powerful V-mod single-coils in the bridge and neck position. This powerful duo is designed with a blend of alnico magnets and voiced specifically for each position, delivering a full host of high-output tones along with vintage warmth and crisp clarity. If that's not enough, this iconic guitar also features a treble bleed circuit which maintains the high-end when played at low volumes, perfect for home practice when loud volume isn't permitted.
In addition to its comfortable neck profile, the Telecaster features 22 narrow tall frets mounted on the maple fingerboard to provide incredible comfort when performing slides. Being slightly narrower than standard medium jumbo frets, the narrow tall frets are incredible effective for bending notes and playing chords with superb intonation.
A real bone nut is also incorporated into the design of the Telecaster, offering a classic appearance and excellent resonance and sustain. A bone nut also delivers a very balanced tone, and will last a long time. In addition, this type of nut naturally self lubricates and helps you stay in tune for longer.
The American Pro series of instruments are delivered in an elite moulded case, featuring body-hugging contours which holds the guitar firmly in place. TSA latches are also included for enhanced security and easy access. This durable case also features a stacking ability, for easy storage and transport.
The rich history of Fender guitars begins with the Telecaster. An indispensable instrument, the Telecaster was the world's first successful solid-body electric guitar. Perfected after two years of development - and a name change or two - the Telecaster debuted in February 1951 and began its steady ascent towards the stage and studio. Ingeniously engineered with the ability to be heard both loud and clear, it was a marvel of simple design elegance and workhorse functionality. It is perhaps a fitting testimony to its essential original rightness that the Telecaster design has hardly changed ever since.
