The Fender Custom Shop LTD El Diablo Strat is a unique guitar that will stand out from any crowd. Finished in a Cimarron Red colour, the El Diablo Strat features a heavy relic treatment on both the body and the neck that replicates the wear and tear from decades of heavy use , and a look that many guitarists long to achieve. It has been carefully sprayed to achieve the aged look, and also features a 8-Hole Raw Aluminum Relic pickguard to add extra aged-authenticity. The headstock also continues the aged-look and ties in well with the body-work. Overall, its grungy appearance gives the El Diablo Strat a deceiving history.
The two-piece body has been especially crafted from hand-selected alder, and carefully chosen by the Custom Shop for its tone, weight and appearance. This superb attention to detail provides you with a quality instrument that you can rely on, and also light enough to be played all night long.
Sporting a 'soft V' shaped neck, the El Diablo offers comfort and ease of playing. This style of neck maintains the replicated authenticity of the guitar, as soft v-shaped necks were originally designed to help stabilize the neck before the invention of truss rods. The use of quartersawn maple for the neck means it is extremely strong. Quartersawn wood is more expensive than conventionally milled wood, and adds a superior quality to the guitar.
The original Stratocaster is renowned for having a trio of single coil pickups since the 1950s, and the El Diablo Strat maintains that same heritage. Equipped with a three Custom Shop Hand-Wound El Diablo Strat pickups on the neck, middle and bridge, that offer a fiery Fender tone. This trio of Fender pickups can be tweaked using 5-position blade, allowing you to chose which pickup to use. These pickups combined with the sonically resonant eight-hole raw aluminum pickguard offer a dynamic, powerful tone. The El Diablo is also equipped with a host of control knobs including master volume, and dedicated tone control for the neck and middle pickup, and also a greasebucket tone control for the bridge pickup. As well as replicating an authentic 1956 guitar, Fender upgraded the middle pickup, which is now reverse wound with reverse polarity, for a noiseless operation.
