The FSR Limited Edition Telecaster features a stunning roasted ash wood body, delivering a classic Fender twang with sweet, airy tones. Roasting the ash wood helps to expand its sonic range, letting the wood naturally open up, similar to wood which has aged over time, and producing a huge, live sound with no dead spots. This method also provides the tonewood with a lighter weight, and gives the natural grain more definition to create a visually stunning aesthetic.
The FSR Tele features a stunning roasted maple neck and fingerboard, with a ‘’U’’ shaped profile ideal for guitarists who play with their thump on the back or side of the neck. The maple tonewood provides the Fender with a beautifully bright characteristic, tightening up the overall tones and delivering plenty of cut and bite. Using maple for both the neck and fingerboard provides players with a sharp, clear punch when the strings are hit hard, while light to medium picking brings out the subtler tones of the maple.
A set of specifically voiced ’52 America Vintage pickups provide the Fender Tele with its incredible sound, designed to the original specs of the 1952 model for a truly period correct voice. These pickups have been meticulously studied and carefully constructed to ensure players are offered amazing tonal possibilities. Featuring a volume and tone control, players can dial in and create a range of beautiful soundscapes to suit a wide variety of musical styles.
The Fender incorporates a string-through body construction to improve the overall tonality and sustain, transferring the vibrations and resonance from the strings to the body. The American vintage Tele bridge features a 3 brass saddle setup, keeping the strings stable while allowing the guitar to be played harder without going out of tune.
Along with its amazing tone and looks, the Limited Edition Telecaster also features a bone nut which adds to its classic aesthetic. The main purpose of using a bone nut, compared to modern materials, is the bone offers excellent resonance and sustain. A bone nut also delivers a very balanced tone, and will last a long time. In addition, this type of nut naturally self-lubricates and helps the guitar to stay in tune for longer.
Each Limited Edition guitar is only available for a short time, which makes it eminently collectable while also adding to its investment value. Crafted with many features normally reserved only for select artists and master-built instruments, these guitars are exactly what their name says - highly anticipated limited edition models.
The rich history of Fender guitars begins with the Telecaster. An indispensable instrument, the Telecaster was the world's first successful solid-body electric guitar. Perfected after two years of development - and a name change or two - the Telecaster debuted in February 1951 and began its steady ascent towards the stage and studio. Ingeniously engineered with the ability to be heard both loud and clear, it was a marvel of simple design elegance and workhorse functionality. It is perhaps a fitting testimony to its essential original rightness that the Telecaster design has hardly changed ever since.
