The FSR Limited Edition Precision Bass features a stunning roasted ash wood body, delivering a classic Fender twang with sweet, airy tones. Roasting the ash wood helps to expand its sonic range, letting the wood naturally open up, similar to wood which has aged over time, and producing a huge, live sound with no dead spots. This method also provides the tonewood with a lighter weight, and gives the natural grain more definition to create a visually stunning aesthetic.
The FSR P Bass features a stunning roasted maple neck and fingerboard, with a large ''C'' profile to provide incredible comfort and a smooth performance for most playing styles. The maple tonewood provides the Fender with a beautifully bright characteristic, tightening up the overall tones and delivering plenty of cut and bite. Using maple for both the neck and fingerboard provides players with a sharp, clear punch when the strings are hit hard, while light to medium picking brings out the subtler tones of the maple.
The ‘58 Precision Bass is equipped with a single American Vintage split-coil pickup in the middle, designed to the original specifications of the pickups featured on 1958 P Bass models. This pickup is built using alnico V magnets arranged across two coils with a reverse wind reverse polarity setup, delivering hum free tones with extra focus and a wide dynamic range. For added authenticity, each pickup is designed using original tolling and techniques to create a truly unique sound in every set.
Along with its amazing tone and looks, the Limited Edition P Bass also features a bone nut which adds to its classic aesthetic. The main purpose of using a bone nut, compared to modern materials, is the bone offers excellent resonance and sustain. A bone nut also delivers a very balanced tone, and will last a long time. In addition, this type of nut naturally self-lubricates and helps the guitar to stay in tune for longer.
Each Limited Edition guitar is only available for a short time, which makes it eminently collectable while also adding to its investment value. Crafted with many features normally reserved only for select artists and master-built instruments, these guitars are exactly what their name says - highly anticipated limited edition models.
Debuted in late 1951, the Precision Bass guitar was not only Fender's first bass guitar, it was the world's first bass guitar and a new kind of instrument. The Precision Bass (often shortened to P-Bass), has spent well over half a century at the very heart of music everywhere. With its two-horned solid body and fretted neck, the Precision Bass profoundly revolutionised music. Reigning ever since as a must-have instrument, this elegantly simple and enormously powerful instrument is the worldwide standard for bass tonality, performance, reliability and overall excellence.
