Authentic Les Paul Features

The Gibson Custom Shop Standard Historic 1959 Les Paul Reissue is packed full of classic features that maintain is authenticity and prestige. The 1959 Les Paul features a Flame Maple top, which has been hand selected for beauty and tone, delivering clarity and warmth. This stunning top is paired and beautifully contrasted with a solid mahogany body, which blends depth and richness with the snap and clarity of the Maple top. This one-piece mahogany body has been especially selected for its lightweight properties

The quarter-sawn 1-piece Mahogany neck provides a smooth, rounded 59 Les Paul profile which combined with the traditional long-tenon neck joint with the hot-hide glue neck fit, enhances both sustain and resonance while also ensuring comfortable playability.

In addition to these classic ingredients, the 1959 Les Paul Standard Reissue also benefits from Gibson Custom's 20th Anniversary specifications. These include a one-piece Rosewood fingerboard, Kluson Deluxe machine heads, hot-hide glue neck fit, a Historic Truss Rod assembly with no tubing, accurate body and fingerboard binding color, new Custom Buckers created in the image of the original PAFs, and period-correct Aniline dye beneath its nitrocellulose lacquer finish.

Unique Custom Colour

This M2M reissue also features a Made To Measure special order colour that blends the classic Iced Tea colour with a touch of Bourbon Burst, making this a truly unique guitar. The flame maple top is visible through this unique colour option, providing you with a stunning instrument. For added authenticity.

Finished with a Nitrocellulose lacquer, this labour intensive process involves several evenly applied coats of lacquer, and an extensive amount of drying time. This time-tested method provides less interference with the natural vibration of the guitar, and delivers a purer tone.

Custom Bucker Pickups

This made to measure 1959 Les Paul Reissue comes fully equipped with a set of authentic custom bucker pickups that are exclusive to the Gibson Custom Shop. Each pickups is crafted with Alnico III magnets and wired to deliver an uneven amount of turns in the wire, providing you with a unique feel and character that only your guitar will have. These pickups clean up beautifully at the guitar's volume controls and offer a classic PAF tone with a hallowed chime, bite and growl. Designed after the late 50s PAF pickups that are so highly sought after, you can't get much closer to these than these custom buckers.

Like all Gibson Custom shop models there is a certain level of quality that you will only find with these few selected guitars. This stunning 1959 Les Paul Reissue comes with a reissue brown hard case with pink fur lining, as well as a custom shop certificate of authenticity in binder, and an extra black plastic treble/rhythm switch cover plate.
