The Gibson Hummingbird 2018 features a solid sitka spruce top that delivers a broad dynamic range and yields crisp articulation. In addition, sitka spruce projects a sparkling high response and tight, clear attack perfect for pronounced players. Furthermore, sitka's versatile nature allows it to accommodate a wide variety of genres and techniques, perfect for a dynamic and expressive performance. Its stunning sitka spruce top is accompanied by solid mahogany back and sides that add a distinct warmth to its brightly toned sitka spruce top. Used as back and side panels the mahogany delivers a meaty mid-range, producing punchy, woody tones with plenty of depth and complexity that will please most playing styles.

Mahogany Neck & Richlite Fingerboard

Constructed from mahogany, the Hummingbird's neck offers a quick and dynamic response with plenty of warmth and resonance. Additionally, its mahogany neck also features a rounded profile, providing the player with a smooth, comfortable experience throughout each position up and down the neck, perfect for long, enduring sets. Furthermore, the neck is topped with a sustainable richlite fingerboard that not only offers an environmentally friendly vibe, but sonically-simulates the tonal output of ebony, adding a bright attack and superb sustain to the guitar's overall sound. Lastly, the fingerboard is graced with glistening mother of pearl parallelogram inlays for an elegantly premium appearance.

Square Shoulder Dreadnought

Additionally, the VTC features rotary controls for both volume and tone, and is able to capture the magic of the Hummingbird's natural acoustic voice, projecting it purely and perfectly. Furthermore, this responsive pickup for LR Baggs also projects the rich sonic character that you'd expect from a mic'd up performance in a studio environment. Traditional Hand Scalloped X-Bracing

As with many of Gibson's acoustic range, the Hummingbird 2018 features traditional hand scalloped X-bracing.
