Quality Sitka Spruce & Walnut Construction

The Gibson Hummingbird AG features a stunning sitka spruce top which delivers a tight, clear attack that is perfect for pronounced players. Sitka spruce yields crisp articulation and produces a broad dynamic range that offers a focused clear sound of deep lows, a warm mid-range, and bright singing highs. This solid sitka spruce top is coupled with walnut back and sides which provides the Hummingbird AG with clear harmonics, plenty of sustain and a strong, clear, fundamental. Walnut sonically offers a warm, earthy sound with the overtone depth of rosewood and the clarity of mahogany.

Maple Neck & Richlite Fingerboard

Constructed from maple, the Hummingbird's neck offers bright sonic characteristics with lots of bite and sustain, while the silky smooth action compliments the maple to unleash and players full potential. Although maple is a brightly toned piece of timber, its the mids that tend to have a snappier attack with a punchy, slightly gnarly edge when driven with hard pick attack, as well as excellent clarity when playing light to medium fingerpicking techniques. This smooth playing maple neck is topped with a richlite fingerboard that offers the feel and look of ebony. This environmentally friendly fingerboard offers high impact resistance making it extremely durable and is highly sustainable. With a bright attack, great sustain, and excellent durability, richlite is powering its way up through the rankings of high-quality fingerboards.

Round Shoulder Dreadnought & Venetian Cutaway

The Gibson Hummingbird AG features a round shoulder dreadnought cutaway shape, with maintains overall tonal balance and provides players with plenty of projection. The big body is better suited to players with a longer reach, and those more comfortable with the dreadnought size. The sheer volume the Hummingbird AG can project makes it ideal for the singer/songwriter, as vocalists can really push their diaphragm to the max and not feel too loud against the guitar's volume, as it will sing as loud as you do. Its round shoulders not only offer an elegant aesthetic but provide the Hummingbird AG with a mellow mid-range focus for players of all styles and techniques. To promote the access to upper fingerboard shredding, the Hummingbird AG features a Venetian cutaway.
