Quality Sitka Spruce & Mahogany Construction

The combination of sitka spruce and mahogany provides players with a sonically pleasing experience that will sound just as pure and natural when amplified. Mahogany Neck & Rosewood Fingerboard

Constructed from mahogany, the J-35's neck provides players with plenty of resonance and offers a durable and stable play. Its rounded neck profile fits comfortably in the player's hand, and provides smooth fluent playability. The neck is topped with a rosewood fingerboard which produces a warm, bright, sizzling-sparkle that really shines through when using fingerpicking techniques. Round Shoulder Dreadnought

The Gibson J-35 features a round shoulder dreadnought body shape that was originally nicknamed the 'Work Horse' back in 1942. The J-35 provides players with plenty of projection and maintains overall tonal balance across the spectrum. The dreadnought shape was originally designed for hard pick attack. However through years of superb craftsmanship, Gibson have created a stunningly toned, well-balanced dreadnought voice that can handle numerous styles of play with equal ease. The big body is better suited to players with a longer reach, and those more comfortable with the dreadnought size. Baggs, which features a low-profile undersaddle pickup that's proven more stable and durable than many standard ribbon-type pickups. Combined with an unobtrusive and removable volume/tone control mounted just within the soundhole, the VTC and the J-35 together provide the idyllic setup for the professional musicians. The VTC features rotary controls for both volume and tone shaping, and is designed to project the rich sonic character that you'd expect from a mic'd up performance in a studio environment. Traditional Hand Scalloped X-Bracing

As with many of Gibson's acoustic range, the J-35 features traditional hand scalloped X-bracing. This specific type of bracing structure consists of two braces forming an 'X' shape across the soundboard which not only enhances the sound and offers a well-balanced tone, but also provides a reinforced stable and durable structure.
