The Gibson J-45 AG Left Handed comes equipped with a subtle L.R. Baggs Element pickup, offering players an advanced undersaddle pickup with unrivaled dynamic range. The Element is designed to mirror the soundboard's actual movement as you play, providing clear, pure, and natural acoustic tones that your Gibson J-45 AG is known for. At the heart of the pickup is a sensor that picks up the guitar's most delicate nuances. This professional quality pickup provides an idyllic set up for the more serious performing musicians.
With a combination of solid sitka spruce and walnut, the J-45 AG Left Handed projects a broad dynamic range with plenty of sustain and clear harmonics. This sonically pleasing combo features a sitka spruce top, which generates an incredibly versatile tonality that yields crisp articulation and a broad range of dynamics. The sound produced accommodates numerous different genres and playing styles with equal ease. The brightly toned sitka spruce top is accompanied by walnut back and sides which delivers a strong, clear, fundamental. Walnut sonically offers a warm, earthy sound with the overtone depth of rosewood and the clarity of mahogany. Walnut's natural grain pattern varies, but also offers stunning visual to match its tonality.
The Gibson J-45 AG Left Handed features an advanced response maple neck that offers a comfortable play that feels good no matter your playing style. Its maple neck offers bright characteristics with lots of bite and sustain, while the silky smooth action compliments the maple to unleash and players full potential. Although maple is a brightly toned piece of timber, its the mids that tend to have a snappier attack with a punchy, slight gnarly edge when driven with hard pick attack, as well as excellent clarity when playing light to medium fingerpicking techniques. This smooth playing maple neck is topped with a walnut fingerboard that not only offers a pleasing aesthetic but provides a balanced, unique earthy tone. The walnut offers a stable design that brings a sonic warmth to the maples natural tone to create sizzle and a tight top end.
The J-45 AG Left Handed from Gibson features a round shoulder dreadnought body shape that was originally nicknamed the 'Work Horse' back in 1942. The J-45 AG Left Handed provides players with plenty of projection and maintains overall tonal balance across the spectrum. The big body is better suited to players with a longer reach, and those more comfortable with the dreadnought size. The sheer volume the J-45 AG can project makes it ideal for the singer/songwriter, as vocalists can really push their diaphragm to the max and not feel too loud against the guitar's volume, as it will sing as loud as you do. Its round shoulders not only offer an elegant aesthetic but provide the J-45 AG with a mellow mid-range focus for players of all styles and techniques. To promote the access to upper fingerboard shredding, the J-45 AG features a venetian cutaway.
The Venetian Cutaway is renowned for its soft, round lines, creating a visually stunning look that is recognisable on any body. This type of cutaway allows easier access to the upper frets for a comfortable play, and enables you with more freedom throughout the fingerboard.
As with many of Gibson's acoustic range, the J-45 Cutaway features traditional hand scalloped X-bracing. This specific type of bracing structure consists of two braces forming an 'X' shape across the soundboard which not only enhances the sound and offers a well-balanced tone, but also provides a reinforced stable and durable structure.
