LR Baggs Element With Rotary Controls

This 2018 Gibson J-45 comes equipped with the popular VTC Pickup Element from L.R. Baggs, which features a low-profile undersaddle pickup that's proven more stable and durable than many standard ribbon-type pickups. Combined with an unobtrusive and removable volume/tone control mounted just inside the soundhole, the Element delivers a performance not previously attainable from an undersaddle pickup. Its sleek and effective design removes unnecessary internal components to enhance the coupling between the pickup and the guitar, and improve the sensitivity for a robust, lively, and natural acoustic sound with excellent dynamics and delicate high end. The Element works with a standard 9V battery, which is housed inside the guitar.

Quality Combination of Sitka Spruce & Mahogany Construction

Constructed from high-quality sitka spruce and mahogany, the J-45 Cutaway's body produces a versatile and dynamic tone that projects sonic pleasures which will sound just as pure when amplified through its L.R. Baggs pickup system. The stunning sitka spruce top produces a versatile sound that will accommodate numerous different genres and playing techniques with ease. Spruce yields crisp articulation yet also has a rich fullness of tone that retains clarity at all dynamic levels. The sitka spruce top is accompanied by mahogany back and sides, which offers players a truly beautiful tone blended with the highest quality that you would expect from a Gibson guitar. Mahogany produces a thick present mid-range and an earthy voice that is especially used in blues and bluegrass music. In addition to its superb tone, the choice of mahogany also offers a stunning grain pattern which added to the overall vintage appearance of the guitar.

Round Shoulder Dreadnought

The J-45 Cutaway from Gibson features a round shoulder dreadnought body shape that was originally nicknamed the 'Work Horse' back in 1942. The J-45 Cutaway provides players with plenty of projection and maintains overall tonal balance across the spectrum. The dreadnought shape was originally designed for hard pick attack. Traditional Hand Scalloped X-Bracing

As with many of Gibson's acoustic range, the J-45 Cutaway features traditional hand scalloped X-bracing. This specific type of bracing structure consists of two braces forming an 'X' shape across the soundboard which not only enhances the sound and offers a well-balanced tone, but also provides a reinforced stable and durable structure.
