Product Ref: 31951
The Les Paul 70s Tribute embodies the look, feel and tone of the heavy sounding, single cutaway, solidbodied original. A classic Les Paul from the era of Heavy Rock, this 70s Tribute sports a pair of high-output humbucking pickups for unmatched overdrive whilst the 70s neck profile with volute and Gibson's most acclaimed hardware set ensure smooth playability, precise tuning and intonation.
Classic Tonewood Combination
This Les Paul begins with the classic tonewood combination of Mahogany on the body and solid carved Maple for the top. This produces a tonal depth and complexity which is unmatched by any single wood construction. The Mahogany gives a deep warmth and richness whilst the Maple gives a bright clarity and snap. The Mahogany back has been specially lightened to both lessen your load and improve resonance. This combines to give a surprising breadth and articulation to the guitar's scorching, amped sound.
70s Profile Neck
The solid Mahogany neck is glued into the body in the traditional Gibson way and has been carved to a characteristic medium 70s profile that measures .810" at the first fret and .930" at the 12th. Period Correct Volute has been used to strengthen the back angled headstock and the Rosewood fingerboard has 22 medium jumbo frets and traditional trapezoid inlays.
Mighty Humbucking Pickups
The powerful performance of this 70s Tribute comes from a pair of Gibson's mighty Dirty Fingers™ humbucking pickups, a legendary source of 70s firepower! These scorching humbuckers include powerful ceramic magnets and over-wound coils for a sizzling, sustained sound that remains clear and articulate, making these amongst the two hottest pickups that Gibson has ever designed.
Premium Gibson Hardware
There's an independent volume and tone control per pickup plus a three way toggle selector switch that allows a broad range of sonic variations. Hardware on this 70s Les Paul also includes a Tune-o-Matic bridge and Stopbar tailpiece with a set of genuine Grover™ kidney button tuners.Put it all together and you have tons of sustain, precision tuning and a perfect tribute to the Les Paul's contributions to the age of heavy rock.
Understated, Elegant Design
This Les Paul is both powerful and beautiful. In keeping with the understated design of this guitar both the body and board remain unbound and the body has been left pickguard free so as not to hide the deep Wine Red finish. A PLEK-cut nut, made from black Corian™ complements the black witch-hat knobs with silver inserts and black pickups rings, whilst also enhancing resonance and sustain. The headstock is silkscreened with a special Gold Gibson logo and Les Paul Model.
