The Les Paul Junior, introduced in 1954, has remained a no-nonsense favoyrite for rock 'n' roll guitarists. This single-cutaway, slab-bodied electric guitar provides simplicity that has appealed to punk, blues, grunge and garage rockers, whilst also boasting an impressive tonal depth and purity that can work in other genres as well. Les Paul Juniors with P90 Pickups have often been modified to humbucker status by players seeking thicker, creamier tones. Well thanks to the Les Paul Junior Special Humbucker, there's no need to mod, because this pre-modded, hotrodded dual-humbucker guitar can save the bother. It features genuine humbucking pickups, classic hardware and a Satin Yellow finish.

Quality Construction

The Les Paul Junior Special provides features that pay respect to Gibson heritage and tradition. Like the first Les Paul Junior, the Les Paul Junior Special Humbucker is made from solid mahogany, a tonewood with a sonic depth and richness that pulses through every note, yet always remains clear and articulate. The neck is made from quarter-sawn mahogany, carved to a fast yet comfortable profile that measures .800" at the 1st fret and .875" at the 12th. The fingerboard is made from rich brown baked maple, a heat-treated hardwood that provides incredible tone and great durability. It also has a PLEK-cut Corian™ nut.

Humbucking Pickups & Tune-o-Matic Bridge

This guitar carries two of Gibson USA's most popular humbucking pickups, a 490R in the neck position, and a hotter 490T in the bridge position. They're both made with genuine Alnico II magnets, providing creamy, rich, warm tones in the rhythm position and plenty of growl and punch in the "lead" position, with groovy round, funky tones in between. You get great clarity and sustain out of these pickups. This Les Paul Junior Special features a Tune-o-matic bridge with stopbar tailpiece for great sustain and resonance, with vintage-style, pearloid-button tuners.

Gigbag Included

This guitar comes with a padded Gibson gigbag, with an owner's manual.
