The Les Paul Standard is equipped with a set of powerful BurstBucker Pro pickups, with the Rhythm at the neck and Lead at the bridge. Gibson Burstbuckers were designed to deliver those vintage PAF tones of the 50s, yet within a modern pickup. These pickups feature Alnico V magnets to provide a high output which allows preamps to be driven hard, delivering a natural break-up for an organic tone.
The Pro Rhythm Humbucker is wound slightly less than the original PAFs, while the Pro Lead Humbucker is slightly over-wound for enhanced output. A pair of push/pull volume and tone controls for each pickup provide players with excellent tonal shaping, along with a toggle switch for a range of powerful combinations.
This Gibson Les Paul Standard Guitar is crafted with a rich mahogany body, along with an AAA flamed maple top. The use of maple provides a stylish tiger stripe effect, adding striking and unique aesthetics. The Les Paul is also trimmed in a vintage cream binding along the edge, which adds contrast between the colour finish and natural mahogany back.
This Asymmetrical design provides one of the most comfortable and playable necks ever offered on any guitar. This ergonomically-correct profile is tapered and designed to be thicker on the bass side, and thinner on the treble side. This design closely outlines the natural form of the hand as it grips the neck, offering a comfortable performance. The neck is made from mahogany, offering strength and enhanced warmth, whilst the rosewood fingerboard adds extra sparkle to the high end.
The Les Paul Standard provides a stable and reliable tone with Gibson and Grover hardware. The Gibson Nashville Tune-O-Matic bridge features wide footing for increased intonation range, and it is paired with a lightweight aluminium stopbar tailpiece. There are also Grover Rotomatic tuners on-board that keep your tone in tune throughout the night.
The addition of a TekToid graphite nut offers increased harmonics in the middle and upper frequency range, perfect for creating a rich and detailed tone. TekToid Graphite is the best high-tech cure for eliminating undesirable friction within the nut, which can cause tuning problems. It is the ideal choice for a guitar nut, as it has excellent conductive qualities which overall benefit a guitar's tone and sustain.
The Les Paul first entered the world in the early 1940s, when the legendary guitarist created the world's first solid body electric guitar that was known back then as 'The Log'. Now, the Les Paul Standard is recognised at THE Gibson model that has been played by many of music's greats. It is designed with many of the same specifications as the original models, yet it features updated electronics for more versatility.
