Pop legends ABBA had a lot to say, no more so than in who built their instruments. Bass player Rutger Gunnarson worked with Hagstrom themselves to produce this beautiful bass guitar. Originally only a run of 364, the original bass is a rarity. Now a sought-after collector's item.

Resinate

The specialist Resinator fingerboard is a feature found on most of Hagstrom’s instruments. The Super Swede is no exception. Resinator is a special composite wood that is perfect for fretboards. It enhances your sustains and gives you a good grip for fretting, up and down the neck.

The Super Swede also features a neck-through design giving your notes a very quick attack and are wonderfully articulate as your play your Rock riffs and Jazz bass runs. It also helps add to the expressive tone and flavour of the Super Swede, a tone that is distinct and modern.

All the Mod Cons

Not only is the Super Swede wonderfully built, but it’s also fitted with excellent electronics. Packed on to the incredible mahogany body, the J quad-stacked humbuckers give your playing a very warm and fat low end. This is important to give your playing tonal balance between the low and high strings. Combining low-noise performance with broad support of the full tonal spectrum, these are the perfect pickups for this exceptionally well-crafted bass guitar.

The Hagstrom machine heads are very accurate tuning heads that not only work extremely well but perfectly suit the style of the Hagstrom design philosophy. Functional, but with streamlined beauty.

Keeping everything in line is the H-Expander, which is an innovative truss rod design. The easily adjustable rod keeps tension at both ends which results in a very low action. Low action is perfect if you want to play very fast anywhere on the neck. It helps make the Super Swede a riff and run monster
