Solid Spruce & Flamed Maple

This George Benson Signature Guitar features a combination of solid spruce and flamed maple to deliver superb tonal qualities and stunning aesthetics. The spruce top offers a broad dynamic range and accommodates a wide variety of playing styles, making it a common choice for soundboards as its longevity and strength provide a sturdy structure. Combined with flamed maple, players can achieve a loud, projective acoustic tone that sounds great in any setting. With its hollow body, the GB40THII delivers a resonant tone that can be used acoustically or amplified. A pair of classic F sound holes are also included, providing an authentic 1950s appearance as well as add to the overall sound delivery. Maple Neck & Ebony Fingerboard

As well as a lightweight body, the 40th Anniversary Benson Signature is also equipped with a 3-piece maple neck and ebony fingerboard, offering an incredibly stable and smooth performance. The maple tonewood provides the overall tone with a beautifully bright characteristic, creating a sizzling high-end with plenty of punch. The ebony fingerboard features a smooth, natural finish, along with a very responsive bright, snappy attack and a smooth sustain. It’s bound edges and Artstar fret edge treatment creates a smooth play and fluid hand flexibility across the whole neck.

GB Special Pickups

The Signature Ibanez GB10SE features a set of special floating custom-wound humbucking pickups, specially designed in collaboration with Gorge Benson to suit his personal needs. These unique humbuckers deliver that classic jazz warmth Benson is known for, along with incredible articulation and clarity for a rich saturation. Their floating setup helps eliminate unwanted feedback, allowing you to pump up the volume without the signal becoming distorted, ideal for delivering clean sounds for the stage and studio.

40th Anniversary Hardware

To celebrate George Benson's 40th year with Ibanez, his signature GB40THII is equipped with a range of classic hardware adorned with special 40th anniversary decals to deliver something extra special. Its classic ebony bridge and custom GB tailpiece provides excellent tuning stability, incredible string resonance transfer, and an effortlessly cool aesthetic. The sure-grip III control knobs provide a refined feel whilst the wood-shaded pickguard adds to its good looks. A specially designed half-bone/half-brass nut and Gotoh tuners enhance the natural transfer of vibrations, delivering an improved sustain with excellent tuning stability.

Born in Pennsylvania, America, George Benson is a guitarist and singer-songwriter primarily known for his solo career in Jazz, R &B, Soul, and Funk, along with iconic hits such as 'Give me the Night'. From the early age of seven, Benson has been performing to audiences alone and collaborating with other well-known musicians. As a former child prodigy, Benson has had a successful career and even received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Benson has many signature guitars with Ibanez, offering the perfect combination of comfort and tone for achieving Jazz and Funk.
