The Ibanez PS120 Guitar features a lightweight mahogany body with elegant contours and a smooth design, creating an incredibly comfortable instrument with sweet, warm tonal characteristics. A maple top is also added, enhancing the tone's natural brightness to give the highs a little extra sparkle while thickening up the lows for plenty of depth. This signature guitar's body shape is based on the Ibanez Iceman, giving the PS120 a distinct look that is surprisingly comfortable to play in both stood up and sat down positions.
The mahogany neck and rosewood fingerboard are designed to offer a smooth, fast play, whilst the naturally oily rosewood absorbs stray overtones for a rich sound. The mahogany and rosewood combination produce warm, mellow tones with complex highs and thick, creamy lows. The rosewood provides the guitar with a very responsive bright, snappy attack, along with a smooth sustain and an open midrange. It’s bound edges allow for a smooth play and fluid hand flexibility across the whole neck.
Paul Stanley’s Signature PS120 comes equipped with a set of powerful Seymour Duncan pickups, featuring the ’59 model at the neck and the Custom 5 at the bridge for a truly versatile performance. The Seymour Duncan 59 model delivers a sweet sustain, full-sounding chords, and a clear and bright attack to infuse the guitar with full lows, boosted highs, and a smooth, open midrange. The Custom 5 offers a nice balance of bass and treble, with full tones and a partially scooped mid-range ideal for a wide range of musical styles.
The PS120 includes a Full Tune III bridge and Quick Change III tailpiece with an added design feature from Paul. While the Quick Change III offers excellent tuning stability and a quick setup when you need to make alterations in a hurry, the Full Tune III can be used to adjust string height and intonation to suit your personal preference.
