The SA1060WZC comes from the SA range of Ibanez guitars which feature more rounded and comfortable contours alongside an ability to tackle a wide range of musical genres. The Premium guitars offer upgraded hardware, tonewoods and finishes to provide you with an effortlessly playable guitar with a versatile range of tones.
The SA1060WZC includes a Seymour Duncan JB Model bridge humbucker with two Vintage Flat single-coils in the middle and neck positions. This gives you the particularly versatile HSS pickup configuration offering both high output JB rock bridge tones alongside the lower output single-coil tones from the Vintage Flat pickups. With a 5-way pickup switch you'll be able to achieve all the in-between single-coil sounds too. This is a guitar capable of playing all the music genres, from out-and-out rock through to blues, country, r'n'b, and anything else you can imagine. The Seymour Duncan pickups are versatile enough to give you searing lead and rhythm tones right through to nuanced clean sounds, and the only limit will be your musical technique and imagination.
Despite its relatively small proportions, the SA1060WZC's mahogany body provides warmth and sustain, whilst the ziricote top adds high-end sparkle and overtones. The 5-piece wenge neck features bubinga strips for added strength and stability, while the rosewood fingerboard adds a dark resonance to your overall tone. The guitar body and neck is finished in a natural oil which allows the stunning wood grain to show through whilst providing a soft and tactile feel. The bound fingerboard creates a stylish outline and mother-of-pearl inlays complete the classy aesthetic to the SA1060WZC.
The SA1060WZC features the S series body shape which is compact and contoured to sit comfortably against your body, both when stood up and sat down. It features Ibanez's low-profile neck joint and asymmetric cutaway to allow easy access to all 22 frets for those high-octane solo moments. The SA1060WZC is oil-finished which provides a lovely playing surface, especially for the left hand where you'll feel a real connection with the resonance of this instrument. The fingerboard has a wide 12" radius and medium frets with Ibanez's premium fret-edge treatment to enable super-smooth string bends and lead playing.
The SA1060WZC includes the SynchroniZR bridge which offers the intonation and string-fastening design of a locking system, just without the complicated full string locking and setup requirements. It allows anything from mild vibrato through to more extreme whammy-bar antics, and with its pivot design it will ensure an accurate return to pitch after use. The ZPS-FX in the back of the guitar allows you to lock the tremolo down to give you the benefits of a hard-tail guitar when you don't require the use of the tremolo system. This makes it equally capable of extreme whammy-bar tricks and double-stop country bends that you'd usually only be able to achieve on a hardtail guitar.
Over the past 30 years, Ibanez Guitars have always been at the forefront of developing the right tools for electric guitar players pushing the boundaries of music. For decades, Ibanez designers and luthiers have been the embodiment of this ideology, pushing their skills to the edge of imagination, consistently creating some of the most versatile and unique instruments ever. Although Ibanez guitars have been made since 1908, it wasn't until the late 1980s that they began to form an identity for themselves when artists such as Steve Vai and Frank Zappa began using their instruments. Now with a huge artist clientele across the globe, Ibanez are a leading manufacturer of electric guitars and basses and a first choice for many dedicated musicians.
