Korg's HA-40 tuner is a brand new device designed exclusively for Hawaiian instruments such as the beginner friendly Ukulele and the distinctive steel guitar. The tuner is compact but powerful, with a precision LCD screen and minute detection range.
The HA-40 tuner has an impressive detection range of C1 (24.500 Hz) and allows you to adjust pitch in steps by semitone, tune with a capo attached or tune sharps and flats relative to standard pitch. The Ukulele tuner supports LOW-G tuning suitable for solos as well as D (American) tuning which raises the conventional C tuning by one step. For steel guitars the HA-40 has five modes and can also be used to tune steel guitars that have more than six strings.
Because no-one wants to become completely reliant on technology, the Korg HA-40's Sound Out mode plays reference tones to help you perfect your sense of pitch with your own ears.
When performing, you want to be able to quickly and easily check your tuning between songs. The HA-40 tuner has an output jack that you can connect to your amp or speaker, leaving your instrument connected to the Uke tuner whilst you perform. When the tuner is out of use for more than ten minutes it will power down to avoid battery use.
