Large high Brightness LED Screen

The 150mm wide LED screen provides excellent visibility so the pitch drift of each string is easily seen. Whether it's placed by your feet, on top of your amp or on a dimly lit stage, the Pitchblack Portable delivers unrivalled visibility. The tuner features the same polyphonic tuning functionality as the Pitchblack Poly. Play all open strings at once and the meter will show you at a glance which strings need tuning. turning the tuning peg of any string will cause the string seeker to automatically detect this and will zoom so you can quickly and accurately perfect the tuning.

Three Meter Display Modes

You can choose from three display modes for the large meter on this tuner. The first is the regular mode which lets you tune the string until the white LED in the centre of the meter is lit. The lit LED will move to the right if the string is sharp and to the left if flat. The Strobe mode lets you tune the string until the illumination stops flowing. It will move from left to right if the string is sharp and from right to left if the string is flat. Finally, the half strobe mode allows you to tune the string so that the LED meter illumination stops flowing and only the centre white LED is illuminated. The right side of the LED meter will strobe if the string is sharp; the left side if the string is flat. When the pitch is correct, only the centre LED will be lit up.

Ideal for Floating Tremelo Systems

Guitarists who use a floating tremelo system might have noticed that one out of tune string can affect the tuning of other strings. The pitchblack Poly makes it easy to identify and correct the one flat string, causing the other strings to sound their correct pitch.

Automatic Detection and Multi Tuning Support

This Korg tuner can automatically detect whether the input signal is guitar or bass (4-6 string basses are supported). You can also easily choose alternative tunings including flat, capo and drop D.

Cable Checker

The Korg cable checker is built in to the tuner. simply connect two ends of your monaural phone cable to the Input jack and Cable Check jack and the display will tell you if it is broken. This is a great way to avoid unwanted problems on stage or in the studio.

Buffered Output and Mute

The Pitchblack Portable is designed with a buffered output to minimise any change or additional noise in the audio input signal. The Mute function lets you tune without producing sound from the Output jack which is essential for live performers.

Ideal for Pedalboards

This tuner is sized like a pedal effect unit so will easily fit into most effect pedalboard systems. There's also a DC Out jack that can be used to feed other effects pedals (when using the optional AC adaptor and DC cable).
