The Martin 000-42 Authentic 1939 is an accurate, faithful reproduction of the original model. The top is solid Adirondack Sitka Spruce, producing a strikingly accurate vintage dry sound. The fingerboard is Ebony for clarity and a good distribution of high and low tones. The Koa back and sides will start bright, and over time open and darken in tone. The back details a visually stunning flamed compass crafted from multiple exotic woods. The Martin CS-OM True North-16 acts as a tribute to the company’s 183 years of highest craftsmanship, and runs on a limited number of 50.

Martin’s aim is to produce guitars to last a lifetime, whether that be in live, studio, or home use. The CS-OM True North-16 acts as a symbol to Martin’s own 183 year lifetime. The Adirondack top Martin have equipped it with is now less common, but was a common wood for quality instruments of the 1930s and 1940s. It has a clear tone, with strong volume. Koa on the back and sides gives a bright initial tone, but will darken and open as it ages and climatises. The Ebony fingerboard and bridge bring defined notes, as well as being a stunning dark colour. Martin have committed to producing the finest woods that accurately represent the guitar as it was in 1939.
