Martin’s aim is to produce guitars to last a lifetime, whether that be in live, studio, or home use. The CS-OM True North-16 acts as a symbol to Martin’s own 183 year lifetime. The Adirondack top Martin have equipped it with is now less common, but was a common wood for quality instruments of the 1930s and 1940s. It has a clear tone, with strong volume. Koa on the back and sides gives a bright initial tone, but will darken and open as it ages and climatises. The Ebony fingerboard and bridge bring defined notes, as well as being a stunning dark colour. Martin have committed to producing the finest woods that accurately represent the guitar as it was in 1939.
The back of the True North-16 takes expert building and stunning visuals to new heights with its compass inlay. It features 4 stunning, exotic woods: Jarrah, Claro Walnut, Waterfall Bubinga and Paua. Designed to stand for Martin’s innovation, this inlay is one to inspire anyone who picks it up.
