Mahogany Soundboard

The Martin OMC-15ME is crafted from solid mahogany, including its top, back and sides, and neck. The choice of an all-mahogany build provides an incredibly rich, warm-sounding guitar. Mahogany is dense and produces a rich tone, with emphasised warmth in the mid and low ranges. Mahogany also contains distinct character of soft warmth, but is well balanced, with a bite of its own. Mahogany is used a lot in the acoustic world, because it is relatively economical, durable, attractive, easy to work with, and resonant. Due to it's rich heritage, mahogany can be heard on loads of old recordings, and the inherent character of the tone lends itself well to blues and roots music to this day. In addition, it also provides a punchier and darker tone, with a prominent mid-range.

Mahogany Neck & East Indian Rosewood Fingerboard

The mahogany neck is topped with an East Indian rosewood fingerboard, that delivers a very resonant, warm, bright, sparkly tone that really shines through when using finger picking techniques. The sleek neck has a modified low oval construction with a Performing Artist taper which enables greater ease when playing up and down the fingerboard. The reason why many guitar necks are made from mahogany is because the wood responds greatly to picking styles, strumming, and various finger techniques with equal ease. Finished in natural satin, with diamond and square fingerboard inlays, and contrasting nickel hardware.

Orchestra Cutaway Body

The Martin OMC-15ME wears a curvaceous orchestra body with cutaway feature. The orchestra shape holds a powerful voice, and is incredibly balanced for a bigger bodied guitar. Even though the shape is bigger than auditorium and parlour sizes, it is still comfortable to sit with for long periods of time. Ideal for live shows, rehearsals, or a jam at home. The cutaway design enables players to achieve more challenging chords highers up the fingerboard with ease.

Martin's All Mahogany Look

The Martin OMC-15ME is crafted all from genuine mahogany, which provides a real treat of an aesthetic. The mahogany colour is a beautiful contrast against the tortoise pick-guard, and nickel hardware. Featuring a subtle multi-strip rosette situated around the sound-hole, which provides another pleasing aesthetic, signature to Martin. The headstock is even pleasing to the eye, featuring Martin logo in old style hieroglyphs, providing you with a classic Martin themed look, with an all-mahogany canvas.

Martin X Bracing

The non-scalloped X bracing allows the top to vibrate yet keeps it stable. Bracing reinforces your guitars structure, and stops a guitar from collapsing under string tension and shapes the guitar's sound.

Fishman Matrix VT Enhance NT1 Preamp

The Martin 0MC-15ME comes equipped with Fishman's classic Acoustic Matrix Natural preamp. The sophisticated preamp features an ergonomic sound-hole, mounted volume and tone rotary controls. The benefits of the Matrix VT is that there in no need for control holes to be cut into the side of your guitar, and it is discreet and simple to use.
