The SE Chris Robertson Guitar is crafted from resonant and warm-sounding mahogany with a maple top for added bright overtones and harmonic sparkle. This classic combination is coupled with a maple neck and rosewood fingerboard, providing the mid-focus and resonant tonal basis for this guitar. The flamed maple veneer adds a classy aesthetic to this guitar, making sure that it will look great on stage.
The 24.5'' scale length is the ideal compromise for easy string bends whilst still providing the correct string tension for long sustain and thick tones. The single cutaway asymmetric body provides easy access to all 22 frets, with the lower horn featuring a bevelled cut to further assist your left hand. Medium frets are smoothly finished and the whole guitar sits comfortably in your hands with its bevelled top and set-neck design. The neck is satin finished and its Wide Fat neck profile sits comfortably in the hand whilst delivering a fast playing action. The adjustable stoptail is perfect for adjust string intonation and improves string stability for the perfect performance.
The Chris Robertson PRS is equipped with two pickups to offer a range of powerful tones, letting you go from beautiful blue tones to high gain rock sounds. In the bridge position is a PRS 57/08 humbucker with a coil tap setup, producing a low output tone with PAF characteristics. An SE soapbar pickup is in the neck position, delivering P-90, single coil sounds that have a high output to create an incredibly versatile setup. The pickups are wired up to their own volume and tone controls, and feature a 3-way toggle switch.
Anyone who has heard Paul Reed Smith talk about guitars knows that he is fastidious in his research and development and his continual drive to improve his guitar designs. The PRS SE Chris Robertson is a true reflection of that, and the SE range has continued to evolve beyond its initial design brief of being a "Student Edition" instrument. Pro-level machine-heads and bridges, along with solid tonewoods and high-quality construction methods, help to deliver accurate tuning and intonation with a fantastic playing experience. This is a true professional performer that can span the rock/metal genres and deliver stunning tones and playability night after night.
