Classic Tonewoods

A basswood body gives the Squier Vintage Modified Stratocaster a lightweight feel and a versatile tonal range with a balanced frequency response. The body features the classic double cutaway Stratocaster design with contours in all the right places, giving you a comfortable instrument for long playing sessions. The neck is crafted from maple for a smooth playing feel and enhanced resonance. The laurel fingerboard provides almost identical aesthetics and tonal properties to the rosewood that it replaces due to current CITES limitations. This gives the guitar a classic look, reminiscent of decades-old instruments.

Versatile Pickups

The Vintage Modified Stratocaster is loaded with a trio of Duncan Designed pickups, including the HB-102B bridge-position humbucker and two HB-101 single coils. This is an incredibly versatile combination, especially when wired to a 5-way switch. The HSS configuration lets you select biting bridge-position tones, warm and mellow neck-position sounds, and all manner of 'inbetween' tones that you'll instantly recognize from countless recordings. The 3-pickup HSS design is particularly popular with session players and those who like to play in many different genres and explore different sounds. Smooth Playability

The Stratocaster body design was based on the original Telecaster guitar, but with an extra tummy contour and right arm 'drop' ensuring a much more comfortable feel whether stood up or sat down. The dual cutaway design enables easy access to the top-frets for high-range solos, while the thin "C" shaped neck allows easy reach over all 6-strings. The 9.5'' radius fingerboard is flatter than vintage Stratocasters (around 7'') and gives a more modern feel with easier string bends.

Vintage Aesthetics

The Vintage Modified Stratocaster has an effortlessly-cool vintage look with its aged white plastics, tinted neck, vintage-inspired paint finish, and oversized '70s-style headstock. The vintage 6-saddle tremolo and tuners provide a smooth and stable action along with the solid tuning stability required for longer playing sessions.
