The TW55HE Heritage features the super jumbo body shape, which projects great volume due to all the extra wood, there's plenty of room for the sound to reverberate around the body. Resulting in a big, bold sound that simply can't be recreated from a smaller bodied guitars. The super jumbo offers the full depth of a dreadnought for power and fullness of tone, there is extra bass created from its wider, rounder bout. This shape can handle many different genres and styles of play, especially suited to strumming and rhythm guitarists. In addition to producing superb tone, the super jumbo provides a comfortable playing experience due to its nipped in waste, and cutaway feature. Its sleek cutaway design offers easy access to more challenging chords higher up the fingerboard, enabling players to explore up and down the fingerboard with equal ease.
The Tanglewood Heritage Super Jumbo features a stunning solid spruce top that offers a broad dynamic range, versatility, and crisp articulation. Spruce is the most commonly used wood for guitar tops as it generates a dynamic tonal pallet and accommodates numerous playing techniques. The wood itself is quite elastic in nature, which resonates well whilst remaining strong, and provides a focused, clear sound of deep lows, warm midi-range, and bright singing highs. This is balanced out well by the mahogany back and sides, as mahogany is denser and produces a richer tone, with emphasised warmth in the mid and low ranges. The mahogany back and sides offer a rich characterised warmth, and is well-balanced with a bite of its own. Mahogany is used a lot in the acoustic world, because it is relatively economical, durable, attractive, easy to work with, and resonant.
The mahogany neck is topped with an ebony fingerboard that provides a very responsive bright, snappy, crisp attack, coupled with a smooth sustain and bright top-end. The TW55HE Heritage neck is crafted from mahogany because the wood responds greatly to picking, strumming, and various finger techniques with equal ease. In addition to its superb tone, the Heritage features a one-piece volute neck construction, this provides a reinforced structure the neck, offering durability and stability.
The Heritage Super Jumbo comes equipped with a Fishman Presys Blend, providing an on-board preamp with built-in tuner for precise and easy tuning. The compact system features volume, bass, mid, treble, notch, and mic blend rotary controls. In addition to these features the Presys Blend has a phase switch, and easy-read bright LED screen for tuning purposes. Presys preamps also include a pre-wired Fishman Sonicore pickup for solder-free, plug and play installation. Featuring a unique pivot design for easy access to the battery compartment.
