Grand Concert Body

The 312ce 12-Fret guitar has a grand concert body, which is significantly smaller than the grand auditorium, providing a big sound in a comfortable design. Built with a tapered waist and shorter scale, as well as a lighter string tension, the grand concert shape is perfect for in the studio and on stage. Fingerpickers will fall in love with the clarity and precision of this exceptionally designed guitar body.

Soft Cutaway

The Soft Cutaway is like Taylor’s venetian cutaway, offering soft, round lines but with a flatter style to create a visually stunning look that is recognisable on any body. This type of cutaway allows easier access to the upper frets for a comfortable play, and enables you with more freedom throughout the fingerboard.

Nylon Strings

Unlike other models, the Taylor 312ce-N is equipped with nylon strings, offering a unique tone that combines a sweetness, fatness and brilliance. Nylon strings are particularly popular with flamenco playing and many from of Latin music, exerting less tension than steel strings to allow the tone to vibrate more easily.

Sitka Spruce and Sapele

The Taylor guitar features a beautiful sitka spruce top, offering a broad dynamic range and a crisp articulation. Sitka spruce is the most commonly used wood for guitar tops as it generates a broad dynamic range and accommodates numerous playing styles, from aggressive strumming to fingerpicking. This stunning tonewood is contrasted with sapele back and sides, which delivers a consistent and balanced tone with an excellent top-end shimmer. This stunning combination of tonewoods not only provides you with a beautiful guitar, but also offers a great combination of tones.

Mahogany Neck and Ebony Fingerboard

Tropical Mahogany is used for the Taylor guitar’s neck, delivering a soothingly warm and mellow tone with good presence in the lower mids. Taylor’s unique NT neck design provides players with a perfectly straight and stable guitar neck, enhancing its resistance to common problems such as changes in humidity. An ebony fingerboard provides the acoustic guitar with extra tightness and clarity, creating a fast attack for added definition.

Taylor's ES-N Electronics

The ES-N is an under-saddle, single-source transducer, with individual elements for each string to capture the natural tone of the guitar and provide a beautifully crisp amplification. The preamp feature a selection of controls to shape the amplified tone, and have been customised to compliment the nylon-string voice.
