The main thing you will notice when playing the AMG2 is the huge variation in tone you get along the breadth of the body. This comes from the three 6” aluminium spun cones that form the resonance chamber of the instrument. Couple this with the steel body and eastern mahogany neck and rosewood fingerboard and you get a guitar that really will ring in all the right places.
Featuring all chrome hardware and a maple Biscuit bridge, The AMG2 comes set up to the same high standard that all vintage instruments ship at.
Resonator-equipped steel guitars occupy a special place in musical instrument history. Essentially designed as far back as the 1920s to offer increased levels of volume before the era of guitar amplification even began, their unique construction and sound, unmistakable tone and fabulous looks have ensured continued interest throughout the decades since.
Originally known as 'ampliphonic resonator' guitars, they feature large but lightweight internal speakers with cones made from spun aluminium housed in the guitar bodies, projecting the sound in the way of an actual speaker unit.
