Full Description

The probe circuit produces a small "bubble" of RF energy at about a million cycles per second above the copper plate. As your foot or hand (or any wet or metallic object, for that matter) approaches the copper plate, the RF field is disturbed and the circuit reacts by increasing the brightness of an LED, which drives a photo resistive cell and controls the Z.Vex Wah circuit.

Features/Specifications:

• The volume level of the "drive" knob... can be set so that when you kick on the Wah it's doing its stuff at the right intensity. It goes from slightly lower than the normal guitar volume to completely bonkers when turned up all the way.

• The RF field screwdriver adjustment on the bottom of the pedal, If turned in the direction of the arrow (usually to the left for that one), will make the probe circuit more sensitive and set the "bottom" setting of the Wah higher and higher.

• With the LED current control, you can usually leave this one at exactly halfway. That's how the pedal is setup when shipped. If you think the Wah is too bright when your foot is all the way on it, just turn this control to the left to make it a little duller at the top end.

• The unit works well with any kind of nine-volt battery. Normal, an Alkaline Battery will last quite a bit longer than a carbon-zinc one, but some people believe in the sound of the higher voltage output from a carbon-zinc unit when it is brand new.

Controls

• Mix: Controls the wet and dry mix of the effect. Everything in between is a mixture of both the signals. Turn all the way clockwise for pure Wah effect, or all the way anti clockwise for just the unaffected signal. So it?s great for stacking with fuzz or distortion and works countless on bass guitars and synths.

• Range: Regulates how bright the Wah can get. Rotating anti clockwise makes the range of the Wah similar to more traditional, vocal type ranges. Turn this all the way clockwise for maximum brightness (this is the setting in the original Wah probe).
• Volume: This is the volume of the drive knob, set this knob so that when you kick on the Wah it?s doing its stuff at the right intensity. It goes from somewhat lower than normal guitar volume to completely bonkers when rotated up all the way.
