Quilted Maple Topped Mahogany Body

The Signature E-II Horizon features a body crafted from mahogany, topped with beautiful quilted maple to enhance the guitar's natural brightness and creating a unique aesthetic. The mahogany tonewood delivers a soft sonic character, with plenty of grind and bite to keep it well-balanced and create plenty of depth. The guitar’s appealing high end and full, tight low end ensures the overall tonality remains thick and firm, offering plenty of dynamics to accommodate a variety of musical styles.

Maple Neck-Through Construction

The 3-piece maple neck to produce beautifully bright tones, with searing highs and strong mids for a dynamic performance. Its thin U-shaped profile is perfect for speed demons, allowing players to easily reach across the entire fingerboard without losing any comfort. The addition of an ebony fingerboard helps to tighten up the neck’s tone, giving it a defined feel, excellent clarity, and a fast attack. The neck-through construction optimises the maximum contact between the neck and body joint, enhancing the guitar's resonance for an advanced sustain. This setup allows superior vibration transfer and sustainability, perfect for when you need notes to ring out for as long as possible.

Seymour Duncan Distortion & SL59-1 Pickups

Sugizo’s Signature E-II Horizon is equipped with powerful Seymour Duncan Pickups and wax potting, offering an incredibly versatile and squeal-free performance. The Distortion bridge humbucker is designed with massive ceramic magnets and hot coil winding, offering an incredibly high output with a full-bodied tone. Its powerful upper mids provide this guitar with extra cut and grind, allowing leads to scream with wild harmonics perfect for rick and metal. The SL59-1 single-coil sized neck humbucker offers a classic P.A.F. voice, delivering warm, smooth tones with a balanced P.A.F.-like response. This pickup is perfect for creating big, full chords and fat, punchy solos, with its slightly strong treble emphasis and extra articulation accommodated a range of playing styles.

Floyd Rose Original Tremolo

For many years Floyd Rose has been the leading manufacturer and designer of floating, locking tremolos. With a design that has stood strong for over 30 years, the Floyd Rose Original locking tremolo allows you to adjust the string tension and pitch with the removable whammy bar to create unique sounds such as dive bombs. Unlike non-locking tremolo's, the Floyd Rose bridge can make huge changes in pitch but still retain the initial tuning by addition of the locking nut at the end of the headstock.

Beautiful High-End Components

This signature guitar is finished off with a range of high-end components to ensure players receive the best playing experience possible. The Gotoh locking tuners improve tuning stability and reduces string slippage, while the Schaller straplocks protect against accidental strap release, ensuring players can deliver a powerful performance without worrying about dropping their guitar.

About Sugizo

Yune Sugihara, born Yasuhiro Sugihara and known exclusively by his stage name Sugizo, is one of Japan’s most respected musicians and is known for experimenting with many different genres of music, mostly rock, psychedelic, and electronica. This multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, and producer has over 30 years of experience under his belt, performing in bands like Luna Sea, Shag, S.T.K and many others. Sugizo has been a huge fan of ESP during most of his life, designing around sixteen signature models with them, ranging from the classic Eclipse shape to the eye-catching V, and now the Horizon.
