The Epiphone 1962 ES-335 Reissue delivers the unmistakable style of a vintage Gibson with exceptional attention to detail. Rounded double cutaways, mother-of-pearl small block inlays, and historically accurate side dots faithfully recreate the look of the original 1962 model. The open-book headstock shape features an inlaid Epiphone logo and Gibson-style crown in aged mother-of-pearl for an authentic appearance that nods directly to its heritage. Finished in a vintage gloss, the Vintage Burst colour enhances the retro aesthetic while maintaining a worn-in, classy vibe that stands out both on stage and in the studio.
Loaded with a pair of USA-made Gibson Custombucker humbuckers, this reissue offers exceptional tonal character with true vintage flair. These pickups deliver a rich, dynamic response ideal for clean jazz lines, gritty blues riffs, and singing rock leads. Hand-wired electronics include CTS potentiometers and Black Beauty paper-in-oil capacitors, preserving tonal integrity while offering smooth control over volume and tone. From the warm growl of the neck pickup to the cutting bite of the bridge, this setup ensures you get the authentic ES-335 voice.
The semi-hollow 5-ply maple/poplar body features a solid maple centre block, delivering a resonant yet controlled tone with fantastic sustain. This clever design strikes a balance between hollowbody airiness and solidbody feedback resistance, making it ideal for high-volume performance. It allows the guitar to handle a wide range of genres and amp settings without sacrificing clarity or warmth. The historic reissue aluminium Stop Bar tailpiece and ABR-1 Tune-O-Matic bridge anchor the strings solidly into the body, further enhancing stability and sustain for expressive playing across the neck.
At the heart of the Epiphone 1962 ES-335 Reissue’s playability is its one-piece mahogany neck with a 1960s SlimTaper C profile. This neck shape offers a fast and comfortable grip that feels smooth in the hand for both chord work and lead runs. The rosewood fretboard is fitted with 22 medium jumbo frets and finished with rolled edges for a broken-in feel straight out of the case. Historically accurate dot markers and meticulous craftsmanship ensure a neck that not only plays beautifully but honours the feel of an original 1962 model down to the smallest detail.
