The Eventide Blackhole Pedal is designed to provide every note with a level of depth that is rarely experienced with other pedals. Built to give you ultimate control of your sound, it features a multitude of dials which control particular aspects of your voicing. A PreDelay lets you determine how quickly the reverb kicks in, determining how much raw signal passes through. The feedback control really allows you to take the tone to new echelons, increasing the number of reverberations. In a practical sense, these two options deliver unparalleled textures, which is essential when making your sound full and inviting. Multiple bypass options, including Buffered, Relay, DSP+FX or Kill Dry, allow you to take complete control over your signal integrity for a crystal-clear sound.
The Eventide Blackhole Pedal is not only designed to be highly intuitive, it has also been meticulously crafted to offer versatility, so it can be used in a variety of situations. The rear panel features a guitar and line level switch, allowing the pedal to be utilised with other instruments such as synths, and making it compatible with DAWs. Two footswitches allow for straightforward control in every situation, the freeze footswitch stops the swirling motion locking your sound in place, whilst a dual action active switch determines whether the sound latches or is momentary. An expression pedal can be connected and linked to any parameter, making switching up your sound mid-performance even easier.
Fine-tune your tone with Lo, Hi and Q (resonance) controls. Use the tone controls to add airiness or clear up the low-end. Map the EQ controls to an expression pedal to add movement to the reverb tail. Unique Gravity control to custom-tailor the reverb tail in two realms — normal or inverse decay. Create interesting swells or suck the dry signal back into the reverb tail. At longer decay times, Blackhole allows the articulation to shine through without competing with the reverb tail.
